Holden and I travelled to Maine this past weekend. Kristen, Lucy, Tessa and Drew drove down from Old Town/Dedham to Portland where Holden and I flew into. This is a trip that has been in the works since we moved to Buffalo. After many attempts on my end, I finally picked a weekend, got plane tickets, and us gals planned a weekend for the kids to finally meet. Wouldn't you know it, Father nature had other plans. I say "father" because another Mother would not have done this to us 3 who have been trying for years to get together. Anyway, long story short and several delayed flights, Holden and I arrive in Maine. As we walk up the jet way, Holden is saying " Let's go Sabres" Needless to say, we were picked on. We get to the hotel late and everyone is so excited and by the time Drew, Lucy and Holden settle down, us Mom's are spent and we all crash around 11:00 pm or so. The next day, we went to Portland's Children's Museum and had a blast. Instead of going out to dinner, we ordered pizza and set up shop in the hotel lobby/dining area. On Sunday, we went to Maine's Narrow Gauge Railroad museum and rode a train. Drew was speechless..... IT WAS SO FUN!
Holden and I hated to leave our friends, but we will always have wonderful memories. Drew and Holden playing planes, Holden having an "emergency" after waking up from his nap that his girlfriend is gone ( Lucy that is) Pool time ( it was cold) and of course the picnic in the van.
Drew asking Holden "what are you doing?" while Holden was laying down in the tub taking a bath, Drew asking Lucy " How you doing?", etc
I could go on and on, but I don't think there is enough room....
