Yesterday was a fun filled day - we started out by going to the North Pole. Santa was not there - apparently, he enjoys some warm weather for a few months after Christmas. After the North Pole we drove to a resort called Chena Hot Springs. It was AMAZING. Chena Hot Springs produces geothermal energy for the 165 degree water spring that is on site. They heat the buildings with radiant floor and believe it or not, keep the doors open... to cool down. We also toured their Ice Mueseum and had the most amazing Appletini I have ever had. Not sure if it was because I was cold or because the glass was made from ice. We get to bring it home, but not sure how well it is going to travel back to Buffalo. Inside the mueseum which is all ice, they have a chess board, an igloo, and several rooms. After a quick bite to eat, we went into the hot springs. It was 22 degrees outside walking to the hot spring, but the water was 105 at the top. My hair froze, I had to keep standing up to cool off. The minerals in the spring - mostly sulfur made my skin so soft. After the hot spring, we hung out at the bar with friends Andy and Chanel. They are fromPortland, OR. Driving back to the hotel, we hoped to see the aurora, but no luck. We didn't see any moose either.
