Holden Flight

Coming home from Maine, we flew US Airways and as we all know, Holden has a small obsession with plane and helicopters. This obsession grew on the second leg of the trip home. The first leg, Holden slept. We FINALLY, get on the plane in LaGuardia and Holden will not put on his seat belt. I tell him over and over again, and not luck. He says to me, " do you see the seat bet light on , NOOOOOOO," I give up , this is not a fight I am going to win. Finally, our flight attendent Cary comes over and asks Holden to put on his seat belt. Holden then proceeds to tell Cary "No, the sign does not say it is time (seat belt light)" Cary looks at me, I give the I'm sorry face and tell him that I have tried... but no luck. Cary then calls the pilots and tells them to put the light on and BAM, Holden clicks the seat belt. Smarty pants!

Anyway, we get taxing and Holden is "PSSTing" Cary and then asking me what is his name again.. I tell him that Mr Cary is busy and will be available after we take off. So, after we get in the air, Cary comes over and Holden is asking him why we were on the ground so long, we are we turning right, etc. After the drinks are 1/2 way handed out Cary comes over and tells Holden that the pilots want to know if he would like to come up to the cockpit after we land in Buffalo. Holden says YEAH!!! He bounced off his seat with excitement. He even got to help Cary open up the plane door after the infamous seat belt light goes off. If I thought Holden was obsessed before, now it is worse.

After Holden helps Cary open the door, he goes up into the cockpit and meets the pilots and one asks if he wants to sit in his seat. Holden jumps right in , I don't think the pilot could get out in time. Holden then proceed to grab the throttle and tell the co-pilot " Are you ready for take off? and pulls back on the throttle and Zooms. The co-pilot is laughing and Holden puts on the head set and proceeds to say " Captain, we are clear for take off are you ready? He was on cloud 20 at that point..... I am sure the pilots were chuckling on the way back to NYC.
