Last weekend we took a road trip to Maryland. Kyle told him we were going to Baltimore to see Mom-Mom and Diddy and Holden said " Dad, Mom-Mom and Diddy live in Maryland not Baltimore" very scarcastically.
Holden was so excited.... he went into school on Friday morning and said to his friend Jacob... "Guess what - I'm going to Mom-Mom and Diddy's in Maryland" we bought him a kids atlas and made a map for him of how we were getting there. Past the mountains, past the river along side of us and through traffic. Holden did awesome!!! He slept the first 2 hours and then looked around. We stopped at Shetz and had dinner and then hit the road again. After watching 4- 20 minute episodes of Scobby-doo on Daddy's ipod, he decided he wanted to look around again. He was so cute! We we got to Mom-Mom's and Diddy's we all were tired, but Holden was more upset that the sun went down - he could not play hockey in Diddy's drive-way.
We spent Saturday yard-saleing with Mom-Mom and then Aunt Amy, Uncle Scott, Trevor, Meredith and Nolan came over for a picnic along with Aunt Diane, Uncle Donald, Jimmy, Judy, Beth and Devan.
It was amazing to see how each child has grown. I can remember having to watch like a mother hawk when Holden was little and now... I thought "Hey wait a second, it is too quiet" and counting the number of kids playing.... WAIT where is Nolan and Holden..... this is what I found. (my heart melted - it was so cute to see them digging for worms together)
